Weekends just got a little better

For the first time in ages, WGBH-FM (the local public radio station) has actually made a schedule change that I consider an improvement. Starting this weekend, "Classical Weekend" now runs until 11:00 AM rather than its previous 10:00 AM, which means I actually get to hear more than 20 minutes of it on those sleep-in weekend mornings (like today, after a contra dance from which we got home at 1 AM). not only that, but rather than following it with boring news programs, we have From the Top, which is often interesting and/or amusing, on Saturday, and, best of all, Says You! on Sunday. I haven't heard Says You! in ages (and it was rarely if ever on at a time when I was likely to have the radio on), and it's great fun. I can see that actually reading the Sunday newspaper before noon is going to get really difficult.

We haven't listened to Says You in ages, because it was always on Saturday nights. (We found it easier to pay to watch a taping!)

Alas, last I checked, it wasn't a free download on iTuntes, unlike Wait Wait and This American Life and Here and Now and Diane Rhem.

Well, I'd think 11:00 AM on Sunday would be manageable.
