The rewards of paying attention
Jul. 31st, 2007 11:08 amLast night we watched "At Bertram's Hotel", the latest Miss Marple episode of PBS's Mystery! Early on, during a busy scene in the hotel lobby, the manager, while trying to field multiple requests as near to simultaneously as possible, says into the phone, "No, I'm sorry, Miss Otis regrets, she's unable to lunch today."
No character named Miss Otis ever appears, so this was clearly just thrown in for the fun of it.

(That's my guilty secret -- owing to my steady and unrelenting diet of morning game shows in my early youth, I can still remember the full jingle to the Figurines commercial.)
