A couple of observations...
Aug. 11th, 2005 06:09 pm...while at the beach this afternoon.
It is annoying to feel a little splash on one's shoulder and discover that one has been, er, anointed by an overflying gull.
On the other hand, there is this whole ocean to rinse off in, and it's helpful to have a reason to decide that one has been baking long enough and it's time to go into the water.
In a healthier society, I wouldn't have to adjust my bathing trunks after every third wave to make sure they don't slip off, because I wouldn't be wearing anything while in the water.
The surf was pretty good today. The water was on the chilly side¹ (too cold for
jwg) but what the hell, it was a hot day, and we don't get good surf that often.
¹This is Gloucester, "on the chilly side" = "well above average".
