One consequence of my staying home this weekend is that I get to experience, vicariously, the wedding reception of our next-door neighbors' youngest son, which is going on in his parents' back yard even as I type. 250 guests. Amplified band and emcee. I think I may need to go for a walk.

Is the music at least good? The coffee shop practically in my backyard often has outdoor live music, but at least all the owners so far have had really good taste.

Yes. As a matter of fact we had a chat with Mr. Neighbor on Thursday when we saw the tent going up. jwg seemed to already know about this event, so I don't know if I wasn't there when they told him about it or I'd just forgotten about it. of course we were originally not going to be here anyway.

Is the music at least good?

Not to my taste, but then popular dance music rarely is.

Oh, undoubtedly. And other food as well, I expect (considering that I heard several announcements of the form "Tables 19 and 20 to the buffet"). None was offered to me, which is fine with me.

You can always give us a call if you're in the neighborhood. As it was, I did in fact go for a walk around the neighborhood, which was a good way to both get some exercise and get away for a bit, and also to go down to the corner store to buy some milk, of which I had an impending shortage. By the time I got back it was almost time for the Rays-Orioles game on Fox. so I was able to partly drown out the music anyway, and it seems to have wound down by 6:30 or so.
