The playoffs start the day after tomorrow. It's true that the NL wildcard team hasn't been determined yet, but the location of every game through Friday is known.

So why in the hell can't Major League Baseball tell us what time any of the games start?

Maybe it has to do with Colorado and San Diego being in different time zones and MLB trying to tailor the broadcast to attract the highest possible viewership for each game?

I don't know. The only thing I know for sure is that when my Padres meet your Sox in the Series, what our staff will do to your lineup won't be pretty!

Guess not, since they did eventually post the times late yesterday afternoon.

The only thing I know for sure is that when my Padres meet your Sox in the Series...

...or not.

You don't think the Sox will make the Series next year when the Padres do? ;)

While the Padres demise isn't quite Met-esque, it was pretty bizarre. To lose your best offensive player with less than a week to go in the season because he tore ligaments after an umpire baited him, and then to have your Hall of Fame-bound closer blow two playoff clinching save opportunities…I guess it just wasn't meant to be. At least we didn't lose to the Marlins, though, and were eliminated by two very good teams.

So, I should amend my statement to "When the Rockies meet your Sox…" ;)
