A new kind of magic?
May. 13th, 2007 08:01 pmI see that neither
jwg nor I posted anything about the Red Sox-Yankees game on April 20th, which the Red Sox won in somewhat miraculous fashion, coming back from 6-2 by scoring 5 runs in the 8th, most of them off elite closer Mariano Rivera. The only reason we might have posted anything about it is that we were listening to the end of the game on our way back from NEFFA, and tuned in during the top of the 8th, so basically heard only the good part.
The only reason for mentioning that particular event now, three weeks later, is that today, on the way back from Dance Camp, we tuned in to a Red Sox-Orioles game in which the Red Sox were down 4-0 in the bottom of the 7th, which shortly thereafter became 5-0, but the Red Sox (with a lot of help from the Orioles) scored 6 runs in the 9th to win.
This leads us to wonder if we're causing some magical effect by having dance events overlap with games in such a way that we only get to hear the part where miracles are required.
(No Red Sox hats were involved on either of these occasions.)
