This is unheard of

According to our minimax thermometer the overnight low temperature on our porch -- in Gloucester! -- was 78.8F. This simply does not happen.

In NYC it never went below 88F at night.

Yeah, well, that's NYC. It's supposed to be hot.

And we can't spend all of this day in Gloucester (where there is, even now, a recognizable breeze, and where we do have one air-conditioned room, where I am currently seated). Not that this isn't entirely our fault; we have tickets to tonight's Red Sox-Indians game, in view of which I also scheduled a voice lesson for this afternoon. My voice teacher's apartment is, thank goodness, air-conditioned, but the Cambridge house, where [livejournal.com profile] jwg will presumably spend much of the afternoon, is not. And Fenway Park isn't, either.

I am going to show up in a puddle of my own sweat.

And nothing else?
