A week ago Friday we had tickets to the Red Sox-Astros game at Fenway. But it was raining, and it was supposed to keep raining for a while, and the temperature was in the mid 50s, and the idea of sitting in a damp cold Fenway Park waiting for nothing to happen wasn't appealing, and we were in Cambridge for voice lessons already, so we decided to hang out at home and monitor the game status on TV. When it was revealed that they were likely going to start the game at about 8:30, but that there was no guarantee that it wouldn't be interrupted again, we decided that we could just as well watch it from the comfort of home, which we did. As it turned out, the game was played without further interruption (and the Sox won!), but on the whole we were glad we hadn't sat through yet another cold night at Fenway.

The this past weekend the Sox were in Philadelphia, and since my brother and parents also live in and around Philadelphia. I arranged to visit them; my brother (who has Phillies season tickets) got an extra pair of seats for Friday's game, and we took the train down. It poured rain on Friday, and the Phillies management wisely chose to call the game off two hours before it was supposed to start. So we didn't get to a Red Sox-Phillies game. (Considering the way the other two games of the series went, that's probably just as well.) We did get to spend some pleasant time with my brother and his wife, and all of us had dinner with my parents on Saturday.

We have tickets for tonight's game against the Tigers. But both of us brought sore throats back with us (mine seems to be worse than John's), so even though we're finally having baseball-type weather, we're not going to this one either.

I wonder what will happen on Friday, when we're supposed to go to the Marlins game.

Kelly and I actually went to tonight's game, and as we sat down in the bleachers I said "hey, Robert and John are probably here" and waved in what we figured was your general direction.

It wasn't a great game. Nobody was hitting much of anything. The weather was great though.

Well, we did watch it on TV. We noticed that it did rain a little bit during the 9th, just as Mike Timlin was making the game decidedly more interesting than it was supposed to be at that stage.

Then again, after seeing the end of last night's Yankees-Mets game and the end of tonight's A's-Rangers game, I will personally kill Theo Epstein if he gives up anyone of value for either Armando Benitez or ugueth Urbina.

Yes.
The question is unclear.
Are you sure?
Ask again.
No.

Probably nothing unless you worry yourself into a knot :)

In that case, the Magic 8 Ball says...

They will choke in the last weeks and you will be disappointed again.
