Last night we came home after a pleasant dinner at Jalapeño's in downtown Gloucester, sat down in front of the TiVo and watched the latest episode of The West Wing, after which we segued (for something Completely Different) into the latest episode of Desperate Housewives. However, we weren't more than 10 minutes into it when everything went dark.

Yes, everything. The lights then flickered briefly, went out, and came on again for about a minute. Then, nothing. I don't know how widespread an area was out, but we couldn't see any lights anywhere, including across the river in West Gloucester.

A little scanning on a battery-powered radio showed nothing but normal programming, so clearly this wasn't another Great Northeastern Blackout. But there wasn't a whole lot we could do sitting around in the living room, so after a while we decided to go to bed, early though it was. Then, just as I was finishing up brushing my teeth, the power came back on. So I stayed up for a few more minutes to check email and LJ, and then went to bed. The power was out for about 45 minutes altogether.

Here's the problem, though: the power loss occurred at about 9:45, which means that the TiVo had no way to record the last 15 minutes of Desperate Housewives. Does anyone local have a copy of last night's episode?

Yeah, I understand you being closer than Nuevo Mexico in Bastrop :)

I don't think we ever went there. We always went to Passport(?) which Greg and I thought outstanding food, great atmosphere and a decent price.

Now if y'all ever visit Austin, you too can partake of the Great Tex-Mex Debate.

Passports. Continues to be among our favorites. We chose Jalapeño's last night because we hadn't eaten there yet this year.

Now if y'all ever visit Austin

Which we keep saying (to each other, at least) that we really must do one of these days.
