Averaging

If the high temperature is 90F one day and 60F the next, that averages out to 75F each day, right? And who wouldn't want an average high of 75?

So why am I still not happy with the weather?

Sixty!? Yikes, what a plummet!

It's really weird. Yesterday was even hotter than the weekend -- the high at our house in Gloucester was just below 90 -- and it was still well up in the 70s when we got home from the Sox game at about 11:00. It was about 64 when we got up and it's been dropping ever since (about 58 as of the present moment).

At least the weather won't keep the English dancers away tonight. I hope.

Thank goodness. Though I wish I'd've known with certainty it wasn't going to rain here during the day, since it was still 86F inside when I got home from work. I've got the windows reopened (at least for a couple of hours) and the big fan in the front window bringing cold (well, cooler) air in. It's been running for under 30 minutes and already the temperature at the thermostat (in the front room) is down to 82F.

For contrast: Yesterday (Monday) the apartment temperature was 94F when I got home from work, 92F 2 hours later, and still 88F when I left at 6am today.

Because you need something to whine about in your LJ . . .
