This was all the result of a foolish attempt to save time after we had moved the VCR back to Cambridge. Since Rescue Me isn't on at the moment, I just changed the time and channel for Wednesday night, instead of cancelling the existing program and entering a new one. Unfortunately I overshot by one when changing the channel, and didn't notice until it was too late.
This caused jwg to remark, for about the 500th time, that it's time for us to get a TiVo.
