Well, it seems like about the worst sign a Red Sox fan (or other right-thinking baseball fan) can see on the out-of-town scoreboard is:

[opponent] 5, NYY 0, 4th inning

Somewhere I read that the Yankees have come back from a 5-run deficit five times this year. It seems like more.

Actually, I didn't care if you got to read the post -- I was just wondering if there was a way I could prevent you from commenting on it.

Is he a Yankees' fan or something?

BTW, was it the Padres who blew that 5-run lead? I know the Pads and Yankees are playing some time this week. And I know that Padres have a solid starting rotation, a good offense, and a crappy bullpen, so it's exactly the sort of thing that could happen to them. (It's been hard trying to find reasons to get excited about the Padres ever since Tony retired.)

I don't think so; he just delights in tormenting me on the subject of the Red Sox. Anyway, I notice that his comment has ben deleted, and I didn't do it.

No, the Padres are playing the Yankees starting today (they just finsihed losing 2 or 3 to the Red Sox.) In this instance, it was the Rockies, although there have ben others.

I was glad to see that the Padres dispatched the Yankees quite handily today. Perhaps they were exercising a little revenge from the WS? Anyhow, they actually televised that game here in Panamá, so I was able to watch parts of it. My uncle was very interested in the result, as his son, my cousing Junior, was drafted by the Padres many moons ago. (He turned them down to go to college and tore up his knee sliding into home, ending his pro prospects.)
