I learn a new trick

You'd think I'd be all knowledgeable and stuff about the technology on my desk¹, but I discovered something two days ago about the mouse that I've been using for, what? three years? five?

It took me long enough to notice. and even sometimes use, the scroll-wheel, but only now have I discovered that if I press down on it (rather than just rolling it) I can do variable-speed scrolling in either direction just by slight movements of the mouse, without having to hold any buttons down! Pretty much everyone reading this (other than the one-button-mouse sufferers) is saying to themselves, "Well, duh!" but I just found out about and I think it's cool.
