As if

I just got off the phone with my parents, whom I hadn't spoken to in a while, and we talked a bit about the marriage decision, and the probability that we would take advantage of it. (The last time we talked about it, during the summer, my mother asked to be invited to our wedding, although it be pretty much impossible for them to actually attend.)

After I got off the phone, jwg said, "You forgot to tell them that they're paying for the wedding."
