Missed opportunity

rscOne of the more recent of my many Dance Camp name badges¹ bears a head-on picture of an owl -- I think a Great Horned Owl, but not 100% sure -- and I had intended to wear it to last night's BIDA dance in honor of Superb Owl Sunday, a fact that I apparently mentioned to one of my partners at a previous dance. I then proceeded to forget all about it, and wore a different badge. When I danced with that same partner last night, he noted that I wasn't wearing the owl, so I decided to go find it at the break and put it on. I then looked around for him to show it to him, but he had left.
This is presumably why the Panthers lost.
¹For those who don't know, one of the side activities at LCFD Dance Camps is making name badges, often using cutouts from old magazines, especially old National Geographics. Since I've been to over 30 such camps, I have a lot of badges, even though in recent years I've often decided I have enough badges and don't make a new one.
