Well, after what happened to "Mercy", we were kind of half-hoping that "Trauma" would meet the same fate -- which it did, only faster; we made it almost halfway through the pilot before giving it the boot.

Unfortunately, it doesn't quite work like that. We look at the new shows (ignoring half-hour sitcoms, which are never worth it), and decide which ones look like they might be worth watching, and sign them up. (Plus of course there are all the old shows that we've already decided to keep watching.)

The fact that we're hoping to have lots of baseball that we care about for the next month and change is orthogonal to the above process.
