Fraternal rivalry, sort of
Sep. 17th, 2009 02:14 pmMy brother lives in Philadelphia, and has season tickets for the Phillies (which, like us with our Red Sox tickets, he shares with some other people). During a phone conversation with him on Tuesday, I mentioned that I was going to the game the following night, and he said "So am I."
Last night at about 9:30, just after the Angels had retaken the lead over the Sox in the top of the 7th, the out-or-town scoreboard was updated to show that the Phillies were leading the Nationals 6-0 in the 9th.
I turned to John and said "Dan is having more fun than we are... and he's going to get home sooner."
Well, our game ended up being more fun than I had feared, with that strange (and happy) ending, but I'd just as soon keep the 4-hour games in sub-60F temperatures to a minimum.
Edit: Turns out my brother didn't actually go to the game.
