Since we had taken the Orange Line from Wellington, we judged that we had better leave at the end of the 13th inning in order to be sure of catching the last train. This turned out to be a good time to have left.
Prediction (and you read it here first, unless you read it somewhere else already): Mike Timlin will not be back next year.
Opinion: At least, he damn well better not be.
Meanwhile, if, at the beginning of the season, someone had mentioned a mid-September series between the Yankees and the Rays, and wondered if it was likely to have playoff significance, I would have said, "Well, it might for one of the teams." And I would have been right, as long as I didn't need to get any more specific. Who, me, schadenfreudig?
