Well, despite what I said above it's actually pretty obvious how these things are generated. It appears that although the process is mostly randomized, the author has decided to assign a specific actor permanently to each LJ user. I assume that the duplication of Tom Hanks is actually unintentional, but the result is just too bizarre.
