If we could get somebody besides the Bad News Bears pitching for us, I still believe that Jason Varitek could lead us into the play-offs.
I could have convinced myself of that before last night -- absolutely nobody on this team is hitting.
And Theo clearly doesn't think so, or he wouldn't have traded Wells.
But stranger things have happened. Nobody who lived through the 2004 ALCS can really believe it's over until it's official.
