In the seats to our immediate right were two women (one of whom, it seems, spent most of the game off getting food and water) who were rooting for the Royals. I don't know whether they were visiting from Kansas City or were transplanted Royals fans (it must be pretty tough to be a Royals fan these days). We were rather surprised when, early in the 7th inning, they gathered up all their stuff and left -- it was only 9:00, and their team looked pretty likely to win.

Then again, if they are KC folks who had been to other Royals games this season, they probably had a pretty good idea how it was going to turn out, and I'm not sure I'd blame them for not wanting to wait around to watch it happen.
