Good Things
It finally looks like we're going to get some pleasant weather for a while. This will make the garden happy -- the pansies have been loving the cool damp weather, but other things are progressing kind of slowly. We just started to get flowers on the peas a couple of days ago. On the other hand, some of the tomatoes already have flowers too. There aren't enough of the Persian Carpet zinnias (I planted a second crop a few days ago, but I don't know how well they're going to do), and I fear there won't be any Classic zinnias at all (and we're out of seeds).
We need to buy more plants.

We solved the strawberry-protection problem.
jwg designed a couple of frames made out of 3/4" PVC pipe to which the netting can be "sewn"; the frames sit on the ground and can be hinged open, with the front edge held up by a forked stick. Both are now assembled, but one of them still needs to have its netting attached. The strawberries are a still a few days away anyway.

Pride Day was fun, dancing both at the parade and in the evening -- see
pinkfish's LJ for details.

The Sox just swept the Astros (with good work from the bullpen in all three games!), and are 8-4 in interleague play, which is way better than they've been doing in recent years.
