Boston Marriage
Nov. 16th, 2008 03:08 pmWell, it wasn't actually in Boston, but I decided to borrow the title of
bearfuz's English country dance (that is to say, the one to which he wrote both the dance and the music), which was among the dances we did during the evening (at the grooms' request).
jwg has written about the event here, and I don't have much to add, but I wanted to mention that, during the service, when the UU minister got around to actually "pronouncing" them, after going through all the standard "forasmuch as Christopher and John have pledged" etc., she raised her voice slightly when she got to "And by the authority of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts..." at which point she was briefly interrupted by cheering from the assembled guests.
