We're going to Fenway Park tonight. We weren't there last night. I'm still working on whether that's a good thing or not.
You see, when your team is ahead 10-0, you kind of expect them to win.
What you don't expect is that they will win by coming from behind in the 8th inning.
It was undoubtedly an exciting game. It was also maddening to watch them blow that lead. And thrilling that they finally pulled it off. The stadium must have been insane.
Then again, it took four fucking hours.
Who'd want to be Kevin Youkilis? Two strikeouts in that 10-run first, and two errors, each leading to an unearned run, one each at first base and third base.
Who wouldn't want to be Kevin Youkilis? Two home runs (including the game-winner) and five RBI on the night.
I rather hope tonight's game is a different kind of exciting -- like, say, a nice crisp pitcher's duel.
Then again, when your opponent has the best offense in the league, combined with the worst pitching and defense, that's an unlikely result.
