Things we shouldn't say
Jul. 20th, 2007 02:52 pmRemember how in this post I said "Let's see if they can repeat all of that against the White Sox on Thursday"?
That game lasted 2:18 and was over at 9:23 PM. Last night, at 9:23 PM we were just starting the bottom of the first inning, owing to a rain delay of just under two hours. At 2:18 into this game -- that would be 11:19 PM -- we were in the bottom of the sixth. And it wasn't a high-scoring game -- just slow.
And we're not even going to talk about the result, or how it got that way.
At least we had the foresight not to do the Orange Line thing, but drove all the way to Fenway and sucked it up and paid the $25 to park. That also meant that, since by that time we knew the games wasn't going to start on time, we could eat somewhere other than the ballpark, in greater comfort and for far less money.
Even so, it was about 1:30 AM by the time we got home.
