Folks who follow me on Facebook may have seen my question about how many people had heard "Yellow Stockings" played on the tuba. So here's one for my LJ folks: How many times do you suppose that one member of a couple has suddenly said, just after turning out the light in preparation for going to sleep, "You know, I don't think we ever boxed the gnat"?

I actually know what "boxing the gnat" means - do I get extra points?

You get at least twice as many points as you would otherwise have gotten.

Actually, I recalled later that there was a box the gnat in one of the English dances (although I don't think she called it that), and a mad robin too, for that matter. But neither one appeared in any contra that I can remember. No pass-the-ocean either.

I never was much of a dancer; walking with a cane now kinda kills that idea.

i don't remember how to box the gnat. i mean i remember roughly what it is, but not enough to do it. i am REALLY rusty.
