Fifty-seven...
...is how many strawberry plants I planted on Sunday. Sets of 25 each of Dunlap (June-bearing) and Ozark Beauty (everbearing) turned out to be 29 and 28 respectively. We've never tried everbearing strawberries before, so we'll see how they turn out (starting in 2007) -- assuming most of them survive these next few weeks.
It was very windy on Sunday, which slowed down my strawberry-planting somewhat -- not because the wind directly affected the activity, but because the noise of the wind rendered the radio unintelligible at the western edge of the lot, so I kept running back to find out what was going on in the Sox game.
It was not the warmest night of the spring by a long shot, but we nonetheless spent it in Gloucester -- April 16 is probably pretty close to the earliest we've spent the night there. It was cold. Good thing we had the quilt and the flannel sheets.
The TiVo, of course, is still in Cambridge, but, not wanting to get hopelessly behind, we watched The West Wing and Desperate Housewives in real time. We haven't done this in a while, as evidenced by the fact that at the first ad break I reached for the remote in order to fast-forward. Which button do I press? Oh. Never mind.
